I prepared black-eyed peas for the first time today. The picture you see above is lacking something. I want to say color because it didn't lack any flavor. I borrowed a recipe on a video I found on YouTube. What would I do without YouTube? :) It wasn't difficult to prepare to say the least, but I wasn't aware at the amount of time it took for them to fully cook. Wow! If I would've known, I might have started cooking earlier. That's quite alright.
The sun made its debut today. I can't even recall the last time we had a sunny day, but I know it's been quite a while.

Let It Snow
No sooner do we get one storm under control, the next one rolls in as predicted. It wasn't a severe storm, but it was enough to warrant significant harm if you weren't careful enough when shoveling.
I would like to see the upcoming new movie Clash of the Titans which I believe is the remake? I've never seen the original movie, but this new version is without a doubt a must-see.
I received yet another e-mail from the kickball captain to confirm Sunday's meet-up. I don't know if Olga will be joining second season. I haven't asked. I have a feeling she won't be joing us this second time around, because her name was off the roster. I'm officially on the team and the captain asked me several days back if I could pitch for the team again, and I said I was more than happy.

Mein Saturday

Anyone ever seen a garlic this big? Did some serious shopping at the grocery store this morning and while my discovery came to me as a total shock, I couldn't resist but to buy this so-called elephant garlic.
I took Monty to the vet this morning and had Dr. Statz trim all his nails. Monty was long overdue and since the weather was unseasonably mild, I took advantage. I believe I waited a good 40 minutes for Dr. Staz, but it was fine from my end since I had the entire morning free from errands.
Last night my friend Lisa and I saw the movie Shutter Island. I personally enjoyed every bit of it, even though it had mixed reviews from movie critics. I like Leonardo DiCaprio and watching him on the big screen after so long (because I can't recall if he's been in any recent movies lately) was definitely a plus.
